A Football Odyssey, part 2 – Diet and Mind Games

So, week two of playing football and I’m feeling surprisingly good. I decided to have a slight change this week and about an hour before we played I opted for the remains of last night’s Pizza Hut. I’m no scientist, but I suspect this may have aided my energy levels and subsequent recovery more than the three handfuls of Haribo I ate last week; I could be wrong though.

Having blasted the ball at the opposition goalkeeper with almost every shot I had last week, I again decided to mix things up. I decided to play the long game and place every single one of my shots either in the path of the nearest defender, or as far away from the net as possible, in the hope that any shots in future weeks are simply ignored and trickle in the net.

Some may argue that it’s a risky strategy – or stupid, if you factor in the fact that the teams will be different – but I’m willing to give it a try. It can’t really be any less successful than relying on my ‘skill’ like the week before.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
